In our last blog post, we wrote about our product inspection protocol. Now, and framed in our commitment to transparency, we want to share our cargo inspection protocol.

This second quality control step checks and verifies the product over again through a visual inspection of the boxes ready to ship. Some of them are opened randomly. The inspector is present at this last check to supervise the protocol –from the beginning and until the cargo is closed and the container is sealed.

Thus, and similar to the other protocol, a loading date and time are determined, and the professional and the production plant coordinate themselves for the inspection process. The steps are the following:

  1. First, the temperature of the cold room is checked, as well as the temperature of the product inside the boxes and bags.
  2. The condition and cleanliness of the container, both outside and inside, as well as its temperature, are also checked.
  3. The design of boxes and bags, as well as the information they contain, are verified.
  4. Some boxes are opened randomly and a visual inspection is carried out, checking that the specifications observed during the product inspection are maintained.
  5. The weight of the product is also checked to verify that it is correct.
  6. In this step, all boxes are marked with “QC” on the outside.
  7. The number of rows and their height are counted to determine the exact number of boxes loaded in the container.
  8. Finally, a minimum of two dataloggers are placed, which are digital thermometers that record the temperature during the entire transit of the container. After receiving the cargo, the client can get them and re-check the history. Thanks to it, the temperature can be controlled and ensure that it has been correct so the product arrives in optimal conditions.

Similar to the product protocol, the inspector determines if everything is correct; this means, if the load is okay or if corrective measures have to be applied. For customer safety, the entire process is documented with photos and videos.

With all the data collected, a report is written. Our Quality Department will analyze it since they are responsible for the final approval of the cargo. If they give the final ‘Ok’, the container is closed and sealed. The report is then shared with the customer(s) and therefore EASYFISH ensures that the clients are safe and confident about the product they will receive.

Inspections require time, investment, and work. However, they are part of our values as a company. This is why we firmly believe that they are essential to guarantee the best service for our clients.
