At EASYFISH we are clear: commitment to quality is one of our strengths. As we mentioned in a previous post, we check each step of the production process, and we monitor and audit the products at their place of origin.

Supervising the productions and inspecting all the containers we ship is a priority for us. The same with writing reports about the results and sending them to our clients: those are steps that are needed to keep the high-quality of our products. We have agreements with both our inspectors and external companies to perform these audits; whether we choose one or the other depends on the product and its location.

In our commitment to quality and transparency, we share in this post our inspection protocol, which begins with the first contact between the professional and the production plant. After that, the day and time are determined –generally when 50% of the production has already been shipped. Once coordinated, we proceed to the check:

  • The inspector asks the production manager for a random sample of 25 boxes. These are taken to a separate room for individual inspection.
  • The temperature of the cold room is checked, as well as the temperature of the product inside the boxes/bags.
  • It is evaluated if the production specifications coincide with those that we provide –that is, those that the client requested-.
  • It is verified that both the designs of boxes and bags and the information they show are correct.
  • Box and bag measurements are checked.
  • The product is inspected:
    • First of all, visually. For example, if there is damage to boxes and bags, if there is frost, if the product has any type of defect, the quality of the glazing, etc.
    • Afterward, the weight of the frozen product is checked with glazing.
    • Glazing is removed.
    • The net weight, the size, the number of pieces, among others are reviewed.
    • We proceed with the organoleptic analysis.
    • Finally, the defects are detected: frost, dehydration, texture, foreign bodies, thorns, remains of skin and scales (if applicable), hooked pieces, color, etc.
  1. Moisture analysis is performed.
  2. A firing test is carried out, which is the last step of the protocol.

From these eight points, the inspector determines if the product is suitable or if corrective measures must be activated. For greater reliability, the entire process is documented with photos and videos. With this and with the extracted data, the professional makes a report that is analyzed by our Quality Department, responsible for giving the final approval. If the quality of the product is approved, EASYFISH allows the production plant to continue its work.

As we have mentioned before, both the report and the photos of the inspection are shared with our clients for their peace of mind and confidence, and because we believe that transparency is the first step to offering a high-quality product and service. In the same way, every time a container is closed at origin, we try to be sure that the product that arrives at its destination is exactly what the client has required.
