Ceviche is a classic summer dish that we enjoy with great passion. Its versatility allows it to be prepared with a wide selection of fish and seafood, but today we will focus on a delicious tilapia ceviche recipe. Take note of how to prepare it!

Ingredients:

– tilapia fillets, cut into small cubes

– 1 cup lemon juice (approximately 8-10 lemons)

– 1 red onion

– 1 jalapeño or hot bell pepper (optional)

– 1 bunch of coriander

– salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. In a glass or ceramic bowl, place the tilapia cubes and cover them completely with the lemon juice. This will begin the process of “cooking” the fish in the lemon acid.
  1. Cover the container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until the fish has a cooked appearance.
  1. Next, finely chop the red onion, jalapeño (optional) and cilantro. Reserve a few pieces of cilantro for garnish.
  1. Once the fish is ready, drain the excess lemon juice.
  1. In a large bowl, mix the fish with the chopped vegetables. Add salt and pepper to taste and stir gently to combine all ingredients.

Serve the tilapia ceviche in individual cups or plates, and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves. Serve with corn tortillas or crackers on the side and enjoy your refreshing tilapia ceviche!
